RICK’S GOING TO VEGAS!
Super excited. The docuseries I have mentioned is full steam ahead, headed to Vegas July 11-16. Our visit will be coinciding with the NBA Summer League and, thusly, several players, and former players, we’ll be interviewing for it. So you’re up to date, here’s a breakdown of the show.
Some of those confirmed for our Vegas interviews include:
Elton Brand (Executive Producer of the show)
Mike Dunleavy Jr. (former player & current GM of the Warriors)
Trajan Langdon (former player & current GM of the Cavs)
Jameer Nelson Sr. (former player & father of current NBA player)
Damien Wilkins (former player & son of Gerald Wilkins, & nephew of Dominique Wilkins)
Carlos Boozer (former player & dad to the most heralded twins coming into college basketball next year)
And there is a huge list we are still trying to lock down including Scottie Pippen Sr., Dominique Wilkins, and Bronny, to name just a few. What they all have in common is they are considered NBA “legacy” in some fashion.
We’re shooting in the Hardwood Suite at the Palms Resort. It actually has a court in the suite and goes for $25,000 a night. Luckily, I worked out a deal where they are giving it to us for free in exchange for a plug. Hey! Shouldn’t YOU be checking out the Palms when YOU’RE in Vegas? LOL.
In terms of the four father/son duos, who will be the main focus of the show, currently we have former Zags great Dan Dickau (7 NBA teams in 8 years) and his son Lucas, and famed Tarheel and former NBA player Antawn Jamison and his son AJ. We’re still hard at work filling the last two slots.
If you want to follow along with the journey, the best place to do that would be on Instagram @hardcourtheirs where you will get to watch videos like this :)
I promise to chime in with some more pickleball when I have the time. In the meantime, have a great summer! - Rick
