In today’s Bite Size Pickleball newsletter:
A Presidential Poem
Rick’s new podcast
A PRESIDENTIAL POEM COMPOSED BY ME & CHAT GPT
From the desk of President Joe Biden as he passes the paddle:
My fellow Americans, I’m passing the torch,
As Don takes the court—his new pickleball porch.
I’ve played with pride, kept my cool on the line,
Now it's up to Trump to make our game shine.
But listen up, Don, this sport has its way
It’s not just about winning points; it’s about how we all play.
No Nasty Nelsons, no body bags here,
Let your every shot show respect and good cheer.
When you’re hitting that Erne or Around the Post,
Remember, it’s grace we value the most.
And if you’re bageling someone, take it in stride,
A little kindness goes far—leave your bravado aside.
No cheating, Don, no greedy slams—
Play it straight, don’t favor the wealthier hands.
Kids are watching—every shot you lift,
So keep your rhetoric clean, and give them a gift.
Don’t throw that paddle if things don’t go your way,
Play like a leader—bring good cheer to the day.
This court’s a place of honor and pride,
Let’s all play together, make it a positive ride.
For pickleball’s more than dinks and drives,
It’s about how we act, how we live our lives.
Play with compassion, Don, and let the nation see,
A game well-played, with true dignity.
In addition to the weekly Bite Size Pickleball Podcast, I have started a new podcast based on my latest book. I’ll be covering everything to do with being “in the zone,” and peak performance. Listen to the first episode here.
Happy pickling, kids! Keep up the positive playing mojo out there!
